So in an action game on the PC, the Mouse usually moves the camera and the mouse buttons usually have functions, and we could assume WSAD to move around. From there, you run out of buttons you can use while moving. Space, 1-4,Q, E and R, Shift, ect. But I'd like to think of some more convenient ways of moving and acting. Does anyone on these forums use perhaps a 'different' key/gameplay setup? I'm not really asking for the ideas for an action game concept, but I'd like to know what control setups people like and what the most you can handle with that setup is. (How reactive you can be while moving, how many easily accessible button combinations you can think of, and perhaps ideas on how you use camera controls in a game.

My friends absolutely hate me for this, but I actually rebind my WSAD to EDSF allowing me access to ZAQWRTGBVCX for hotkeys. Not to mention that I can bind Shift, Ctrl, and Alt ZAQWRTGBVCX to whatever I need. I generally almost never use 1-5. That and it keeps me from accidentally hitting Tab and Caps Lock.

Then again, that's just how I play.

use the scroller as an alternate wate to shift items in your hot bar and if your going to have a chat function use t for that and make sure not to put anything in for y or r or g
