Obama releases another birth certificate

Either the Republicans are really smart or their base is really dumb. These days I can't figure out which. The Daily Show had a really good segment on, what I would call, American hypocrisy. During the whole Health Care debate, people were screaming, threatening, and carrying on like the world was coming to an end. Now that the Republicans are actually changing Medicare, Medicaid and therefore how health care works for about 1/3 of the country, suddenly those same people have now learned how to have civil discource. This birth certificate issue is just as bad. Basically, Donald Trump is saying, in a nutshell, that he did a better job at vetting the President and determining his citizenship than the governmental body that's in charge of that. And people of course are going to buy that.

How the hell did we end up this way?

It's not the general population base. It's the few people who scream loudly combined with the few who are genuinely stupid.

Recall that many Americans are apathetic to politics and don't even vote in local elections for the government that influences them most. Those who do care are generally more 'centrist' with a bias toward liberal or conservative sides.

The folks on the extremes are the minority yet often the most vocal. They tend to attract the truly stupid to their causes.

In all honesty I think the entire situation is dumb. I say start over. Re-elect everything. It's better to have a pause in the system to fix it rather than keep on running with crap.

What? That doesn't make any sense. I don't think you understand what this thread is about.

I don't understand why he did this, or even had to do this. It's not like releasing proof will change anything. As Stewert mentioned in The Daily Show, the viewers who believe this stuff anyway are only watching things in a bubble where the only talk points are those within that bubble. So the people who didn't believe yesterday will still not believe today.

Sarcasm? There are articles with more than decent evidence that the certificate was doctored.
