Sudden Necrophilia
I've been noticing a bunch of threads jumping up to the top of their respective forums lately. Has anyone else noticed, or is it just me? And the threads jumping up are really old too, 4-5 years in most of the cases I've seen.

Why start a new thread if the old one covers the topic well enough?
Forums in general have bs double standards on that. Everyone wants you to search first for older theads, but if you actually do it, you're bashed for being a necromancer.
Don't make new threads that cover old topics.
Don't reply to old threads either.

I don't mean the posts are to ask for more information or elaborate or anything like that. I mean newly registered posters "helping", like this, with issues that were either resolved or forgotten 4-5 years ago. I appreciate the enthusiasm, willingness to help, and so on, and it's really not a big deal as something like AI will continue to prompt similar questions from people just starting. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed, or if I'm seeing a trend that's not really there, that's all.
And to everyone else, I'm sorry about the misleading title; I thought it had a certain panache to it.

I don't think it is supposed to be that strict. You're supposed to search and see if you can solve your problem with older threads. This isn't always possible, the technology might have moved on, or for beginners they often cannot see how to solve there problem even if they find similar results.
But bringing an old thread back to life isn't a good idea because the original participants may no longer be around so the "flow" of the thread becomes quite uneven.

I like the title, though I suspected the topic before entering the thread.

Don't be sorry about the thread title, be sorry about the fact that your OP doesn't have enough corpses or people loving them.
