Looking for friends and contacts

I was on the verge of posting a help wanted add, but I've got nothing on the table at the moment, I'd like to start a major project, but I'm mistified as to what.

I've started so many times now, only to see it fall apart mainly from the one man band syndrome, that I've near given up, I've dabbled in everything from designing music, 2D/3D graphics and animation, programming in more than 50 billion languages (which is more a researching skill than one of pure knowledge), level design, AI, you name it - I've been there.

So, I'd like to actually meet a few people, perhaps add them to some form of email or - better - get an MSN or other live chat method of contact.

At heart - I'm a programmer - but games do not rely on programs alone - I know I could write something simple - something light - I'm sure it would be in me to write an Audiosurf clone - alone - without any help at all - but darn it - I had hopes and dreams of doing something with my computer - and to many times things have ended up on the back burner.

Just recently I got a paid for buisiness server, its only small, but it might be an excellent development platform, I'm working on getting a copy of Team Foundation Server for it, but that depends on a loan, and my credit rating is so poor I'd have trouble begging for food....

My biggest probelm is too much free time, too many distractions, and - to date - very little team experience. I'm not really sure what I should be doing about all this, I've looked at open source projects like openmorrowind, but they really are not me.

I want to start a closed source project, I'm open to suggestions - but first I want to make some friends - you know - networking...

When you get to know me - you'll find I've got a lot of radical ideas - I'm kind of over a lot of the clone games - these days there are so many MMOs around that the only one worth playing is world of warcraft....(I hate customer base - I really do!!!) - and how many RTS in the lines of StarCraft, sure with Majesty and Dungeons there are some new ideas coming to the table, but the basic game has been played to death...

If I had a choice as to what I would want to make - it would be a new horizon - sure - it would be something untested - but - well at this point in time - I'm not asking for investors - just a few people I can talk with - talk is cheap (normally cheap - but not always the case). So this is why I can't post in the help wanted section. I don't really need any at the moment.

Perhaps you out of sorts - or maybe in a generous mood - perhaps your just some bum like me who climbed up from the pits - but for some reason - you thought you might have time to listen to some ideas, and perhaps even hook up - if what was said sounded sweet enough - to a close source project.

Whatever the case, you've read this far... At absolute least - I want a private brain storming competition, I want to meet people who are open with their abilities, not going to boast too much about things they can do, only to falter when the time comes to carry thru. If anyone would like an opportunity, I'd like to think I can help, so in short, if your interested in starting a team, or even just keeping your finger on one that is trying to gain some ground, get in contact with me, either reply here, or private message me...

My name is Daniel, and I'd like to be on atleast a first name basis (not a requirement) with the people who respond...
Well, I'm not looking to join a team at the moment, but I'd certainly be happy to offer some input and maybe shuffle some contacts to help you out with networking a bit.

Where are you based?
