2D games in world of 3D
Hello memebers. I would like to ask if 2D isometric MMORPG would have any chances to shine in world of 3D MMORPG's? I don't mean another Tibia, real MMO where You need to work in party to achieve something, also there won't be some premium expensive accounts which decides whatever or not you are good player. I have passion for games, also I am programmer(I know that doing it solo will be very hard to complete) so I would liek to create it from beginning, but I am not sure if in 3D world anybody would like to play it?
Yeah, there's a market for it. For a while I played Dofus, which is a 2D isometric, turn-based, MMO.
There are several popular 2D MMOs, you should research existing ones: Dofus, Maplestory, zOMG... try googling "2d mmo".
I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.
Wow, Dofus is really amazing. Thanks guys I see there are still people who like to play in 2D.

This is not a Breaking In question. It's probably more a Business question than a Game Design question. Giving you The Business forum.
