What with the massive redesign and lack of proper IOTD, I'm wondering if the site might need a bit of invigoration? What about a contest with an update on the main page, with screenshots rotated in from people's submissions. Not a full game, per say. Maybe just a specific shader? Best distortion, or fire, or some kind of effect?

The very poll system could be used to let the users be the judges making a poll option per entry or so.

Moderators and staff should only worry about people trying to mess the votes.

One good way to prevent vote cheating, is to have users post the votes, and only count the votes of the users who have been members for more than 6 months and have a certain amount of posts. Or something along those lines. Just a suggestion.

I agree with everyone about making the staff and moderators work more than they already are on the site. They should create a 3D game which only older, active members could play and when won, it would make them eligible for the contest. The staff and moderators would make a second game that would test eligibility for reviewing games and a third for voting. I suggest a moderate budget of $50,000 and about 3 months to develop for each game.

Pay me $50K over 3 months and I'll gladly develop a throwaway game for you
