I apologize if this is off-topic, not permitted or against board rules.
I have an idea for a game (like every gamer out there) and would like to know what is the going yearly salary for one kick azz game developer? Or perhaps it is by project?
Commission a Game Developer
You should look in the Business and Law of Game Development forum. Someone posted a similar question:
http://www.gamedev.n...-an-action-rpg/
And it is mentioned in that thread but here is the forum faq which contains good info:

C++: A Dialog | C++0x Features: Part1 (lambdas, auto, static_assert) , Part 2 (rvalue references) , Part 3 (decltype) | Write Games | Fix Your Timestep!
I'm going to move your topic to the Business and Law forum -- you should definitely have a read of the FAQ and existing topics there, as your question -- or very similar -- is reasonably common.
Good luck!

You can read the Game Salary Survey at http://gamedeveloper.texterity.com/gamedeveloper/2009fall/#pg33
But "salaries" differ from "consulting prices" since a freelancer has to pay for his own insurance and cover down time, etc.

See the forum FAQ for info on salaries - however, unless your game is tic-tac-toe you will probably need more than one person (almost certainly an artist), definitely a project manager (unless you have experience managing game development), and possibly an entire team. It all depends on the scope of you game idea.
