Does anybody else get super pumped for CES? I think it's my favorite time of year. So much awesome stuff. I'd say it trumps every other conference/trade show in terms of cool stuff.
Really really hoping they come out with a version of the HP tm2 with a DVD drive. /drools
CES 2011

I'm buying a new laptop and CES will pretty much determine what I buy probably. Lets hope they put the i7-2600 desktop processor into a new 17" laptop :)
no need for the desktop version, i want the mobile version! 8h battery life on a quadcore, AWESOME :)
they're really great, can't wait. personally, i want the ULV anyways (12" convertible tablet from hp is awesome)

I'm pretty excited about this too.
I hope they'll release a 13" MBP without an optical drive, with fast SSD, Sandy Bridge Core i5 and fast video card.

really? people still use dvds to watch movies from, especially geeky people? when i get a new movie, i come home, put it into my home server, and 15 min later, it's available on all my clients.
and software should never be installed from a dvd. install from an usb stick or the network, much faster (including os installations. windows up and running in 7 minutes).
i'm glad my 2710p and 2730p and soon 2750p don't have a useless dvd drive. both my main pc and my media center don't have one anymore, too. zero need, really..

If I had a home server then I'd gladly do it that way, sadly I do not.
I use DVDs mostly because of my existing DVD collection and I like the idea of being able to rent or borrow a movie while I'm out and about or not having to rely on needing an internet connection. I can see how you wouldn't need one, but for me it would takes me from insta-buy to buy if I have that much extra money.
Also, the new 2750p's are pretty hot too. I was drooling over those a bit ago. Is there word on if they'll have integrated graphics or a dedicated graphics chip? I know that was one thing that the TM2 had over the elitebooks so far.
