News just in...

Good for them! [smile] Too bad they didn't give too many details.

I never used the Torque engine, but I love Garage Games itself, and Instant Action.
While it's good that more options exist (Like Unity3D and Unreal's non-commercial licensing), I was sad when I heard Garage Games was closing down - I understood how well they treated their community, and how they were one of the first to target the independent engine market in a serious way.

A bit of details on it not being dead: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/32539/Interview_GarageGames_Relaunches_Torque_Engine_With_New_Owners_New_Focus.php can't find what they're doing different from before as their site seems to be down

Wow, that's pretty interesting. Take a look at this: January Product Update

As for the other news:

The company will be dropping the price for its products to $99 for a limited time as it relaunches, it said in an announcement.

I'd definitely grab their stuff (full source, no royalties) at that price! Even though some of it might not be kept around in the long haul, it's a hard deal to pass up for the time being. Now, I just have to wait for their site to fix the current issues to order.
