Looking for a good student loan

I'm looking for a job, which is proving to be as easy as eating jellybeans with my pinky. I have little choice but to grab a student loan for tuition and to replace my now fried workstation.

If you got a student loan, who did you go to, and would you recommend them?
Ah, you might want to put up something about WHERE you are in the world. Makes a difference.

Sure. Mississippi, USA. Want to get outta here ASAP.

I did NOT get approval for the FASFA, by the way.
If you're in the US it doesn't matter anymore. FedLoan took over all student loans. Meaning only the government offers them. If you had existing loans, they will (if not already) get transferred.
"Does not matter" as in, all interest rates are the same and banks are just proxies?

How did you manage to do that?

Mother doing well, but claims to not have money. Father refused to take part. Ended up being told to ask mother for funds, as expected. Ended up in the situation where I need to find the money for my desired college on my own.

Trying to do freelance work, since some child support nonsense between my parents from 5 years ago is somehow still preventing me from getting my first driver's license at age 19.

It's not pretty, and is a long story.
When I went looking, Discover Bank gave me a very competitive rate -- but I had my father co-signing on with extremely strong credit score. Sounds like you may not have that luxury...

There aren't even banks anymore. You get FedLoan and that's it. It's like the old Sallie Mae except now they service all student loans.

I don't know about the service but I know the fee went down a little (maybe .5%) and rates are pretty low right now (<6%). This is as of about a month ago.
