Okay I went to the microsoft site with VC++, looked around for the student discount thingy, and was totally lost. I found stuff that would register my school and everything for the microsoft stuff, but nothing was said at all about me getting a discount if I am a student or anything like that... what should I do?

Just head over to your local university bookstore, or co-op bookshop. They''ll be able to help you out.

Microsoft only allows certain outlets sell the Student version (such as aforementioned university bookshops and co-ops) and I don''t think you can get the Student version off the website.

If you''re in highschool, then I guess your best bet would be to talk to your library or perhaps your computing teacher.
