">This
is how you demolish a marshmallow factory. You just blow up the rocket-fuel factory next door. (Watch 1:20).

Thumbs up for 'splosions!

Explosions are oldskool and thus totally awesome. Surely Duke Nukem Forever will have a lot.

Half a tonne of dynamite was not enough; I would use a whole tonne instead. I wonder if it would be possible to drag the whale body out to sea (it would obviously float, so the main difficulty would be initially getting it off of the sand) and THEN blow it to pieces?
Why not to also have a rocket lifting it off so you could also have fireworks!!!

Time shifted audio and heavily edited. The real footage had blast sound delayed by many seconds. The shockwave seen, IIRC, travels just slightly faster than speed of sound. It's interesting that when the sound does reach them, one of them says "so loud". That is despite 1/r^2 attenuation.

I really don't get it why they do that. It's so much more dramatic to have to wait for sound. Gives a perspective of scale.

">Real one
. The camera is 5 miles away from explosion.

Isn't that interesting? I love how everything becomes dark when the second explosion occurs.

Some explosions:
>MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Burst/ Mother Of All Bombs)

>Nuclear Cannon

>Controlled demolition of Ammo dump in Iraq

>Rocket Launch Gone "Oh no"

Happy?

When we demolished our old house there were no explosions, but we invited people from the neighborhood for some DIY demolition before the professionals could get to it. Swinging a sledgehammer through the front door is enormously satisfying.

Well, now there appears to be
">an app for that
.
I had a friend in high school that decided to blow up a trailer with a propane tank... he would appreciate this... as much as I do... Its true about sending a fantastic farwell to our outdated yet memorable buildings... actually even the not so memorable ones.... just blow the crap out of them.... people in the next city should be complaining about the ash cloud and the hail of granulized cinder block raining from above.

BTW i just about pissed myself when i finished reading the openning post.
