I guess the Pac-Man game I'm working on is likely too modern to submit:

That's okay; I'm not at all confident I can get it to a releasable state by the deadline :D But I thought I'd share, since it's within the spirit of the contest, if not the rules!

Do you have a demo of that? Does the screen rotate as you pac-munch?

Anyway I didn't want to derail the retro-thread. But if you meet the criteria of the thread, please post! I know there's another guy here with a crazy rendition of Breakout.

Recognition of the classics brought to the new millenium has begun!

Future thanks to all participants.

i was actually working on a <--snip--> inspired takeoff. It's like <--snip-->, but with more explosions :-)

Here's a take on Space Invaders (and more). All the elements are built from quads which can be shot off the object. Once a certain percentage is destroyed the object explodes.

Click on the picture to download a Windows binary. It's heavy WIP though. Press P to start playing. There's 17 stages I think.

Monopoly Streets, will be hitting stores in a few weeks. We're going through the normal finaling process now.

Monopoly is 75 years old and still active. So the "classic" part is present.

Subtract the board, add "real" world environments, various game boards/worlds and rule sets, tile-specific animating houses and hotels, your actual player avatar, live auctions (in the style of the old MULE game where you could cheat your opponents at the last possible moment) and online play, and it is certainly a new take on a classic.

If you want movies, there's a few gameplay movies and game trailers as well. Most people either love monopoly or hate monopoly, but with 100% market recognition, you know the game.
