WHAT TO DO: post one sentence from either Kel's or Rantoon's perspective. The actions (or dialogue) should be alternated (eg if the last person advanced Kel, then you should do so with Rantoon). You must use a weapon, ability or reference to any game (please also mention the name of the source game in parentheses!) in your reply. Remember - anything that has not been expressly stated in text before can be changed or defined by you (for instance, in the beginning we have no idea if Kel and Rantoon are even human or humanoids, so you could make a point of referencing this).



THE BACKSTORY: it's the near future - only problem is, no one knows when... or where the present is. The location is just outside an entrance to a forgotten crypt on an apparently alien world. Two characters - Kel J'dar, a female field scientist aged 27, and Rantoon Shakar, a marine aged 24, wake up after having been out cold for almost six hours. They start to get their bearings, but it doesn't take long before both start to realize something is very wrong. An elevated level of paranoia overtakes both of them as they try to frantically recall the last thing before the accident. In a violent flashback, Rantoon remembers having been sucked into a kind of vortex while separated from his outfit - as he turns to the girl, Kel, to ask for her take on the situation, he realizes it is too late - she is already gone from sight. Very wrong, indeed...


ACTION 1: Kel
Kel slides down to the ground behind a large rock, her hands shaking - she, too, has only just witnessed a flashback and as she checks the Assault Rifle (Mass Effect) in her hands, it's all too clear in her mind she must not trust the man he woke up next to.
