That's awesome.
Quote:Original post by phantom Sorry, it turns out my reporting was in error yesterday as it seems that the USA won the 1-1 draw, so well done I guess? [grin]
I laughed hard about that when I saw it on their website.
The World Cup! I'll be supporting my own country despite the fact that they're rather crappy at the moment. We lost our first game to Argentina but we're hopeful for a win against Greece, while South Korea seems tough.
Oh, and those vuvuzelas are really annoying. The matches sound like they're being played in a beehive. :(

Me and you bro... Although different team. No other can disappoint as much as France [flaming][sad] Players not interested, manager is a clown, we're heading for another humiliation.[sick]
Quote:Original post by owl Very nice Germany... Very nice. You can still make 2 more.
O dear. I fully expected Germany to win, but this is almost painful to watch. :/
Australia proved to be an easy opponent but Germany is clearly solid on the field, they know their moves from heart and they certainly dominate this freakin new ball. They are going to be hard to beat.
Since Ireland were so unceremoniously robbed of our rightful place by a bunch of chesse-eatin surrender monkeys, I will be supporting my adoptive home...
Go the All Whites!

Not really supporting any team. Have vested interests in Nigeria and USA, of course, but I fully expect Nigeria to crash out in the group stages due to characteristically poor planning by our Football Federation (our coach was just hired in March!) while I'm pulling for the USA to go further - it's nice to see footie getting some real support stateside.
Other than that, I just want to see great football. The games have been pretty decent so far, but the scoring tallies had been disappointing until Germany laid 4 on Australia. That was fun! [smile] (I was hoping for 5 or more, though). Argentina should have put 6 on Nigeria if not for Vincent Enyeama's outstanding goalkeeping.
Don't care for the Jabulani ball, but these guys are pros; I expect them to adjust, and quickly. Tired of seeing shots listlessly float way overhead.

As do many, to the point that action may be taken over the issue. The fact that they had to put out a tannoy announcement during the opening ceremony asking people to refrain kind of says it all.
They're horrendous to listen to even on the TV, sounds like the whole stadium is a giant wasps' nest.
