Do you normally turn off VSync for better framerates?
Ahham, thanks. I asked because I didn't want to say a stupid thing with the "interference" stuff. So I didn't.
I actually see tons of tearing in modern console games. I don't know if it's a side effect of the 360's weird antialiasing buffer or just higher resolutions.

Many 360 games lock at 30fps, and drop the lock if they're under 30fps. For slightly under 30fps the tear ends up at the very top of the screen, which means it's in the overscan area and most people don't even see it. But if the framerate dips too low the tear moves down towards of the middle of the screen.
Oh and to answer the question...I always turn on VSync. I hate tearing!
I'm fairly sensitive to tearing, so I VSync if at all possible. If the game isn't hitting framerate, then I'll decrease the quality rather than deactivate VSync. And I noticed that The Force Unleashed has severe tearing on 360, to the point that the screen borderline disintegrates in certain scenarios. Never seen anything like it. Thankfully the game is trash anyway, so I'm not missing much.
