Has anyone here attended on of the Hackers on Planet Earth conferences? The Next HOPE is July 16th-18th in NYC. I had wanted to go to the Last HOPE, but it didn't work out with my schedule. It seems pretty interesting.

I wanted to go to a few of the HOPE conferences, but I think I kind of "grew out of" the 2600 scene around the same time the magazine mostly became about how to trick library filtering software into displaying different webpages.

I did pick up the (excellent) 2600 anthology book though. Some really smart reading in there.

I've never read the magazine. I had a friend that was interested in going to the Last HOPE and wanted to make a weekend event out of it but that fell through. Now, I'm involved in something that brings me into contact with the event itself. I may still not actually go, $85 and travel+hotel to NYC doesn't sound so great.
