it’d take Konami no more than a month to make my game good to go
What platform(s) would this game be targetted at? Even games as simple as Konami video slot machines take about 3 months end to end.
it's a PC game, you only need a mouse to play it

So it's a simple PC game, that should be dead easy to develop and appeals to everyone.
Should it be sold as a boxed product on the shelf next to Call of Duty 7 for full PC game price? Or sold at WalMart for $3.99?

Are you sure it wouldn't be better suited to a flash portal?
OMG, I only now noticed: I'm not talking bout slot machines ...
"flash portal"??! What's that? Lemme try and make some sense of my whereabouts:

On May 1st I decided to design something that’ll make more $$ than the Rubik’s cube. By the next day the concept was pretty clear in my mind: A knockout video game (which, btw, has nothing to do with Rubik’s cube). Problem is that I have no experience in or passion for video games (although I played Cubis a few times).

Now never forget that outsiders are known to be among the top hitters/scorers in, basically, any field
Your Problem:

You have a game idea but you don't want to tell just any random programmer as you think they may steal your idea and make it themselves?

Your Solution:

Prototype it yourself!

Yeah I was just using them as an example of a very simple video game that you'd be familliar with - they're dead-simple rehashes of existing games, and still aren't done in a month once you take the whole dev cycle into account.

It's a website where simple mouse-only games targetted at a wide demographic get published... because these kinds of games aren't boxed up and sold in stores.

How is it going to make that money? Have you done research on how games are sold these days, how different demographics get hold of the games they do play, etc?
Dave,

as I said: I have numerous IP’s at the Library of Congress. I’m not paranoid anymore, like any beginner inventor. A copyright, patent or patent pending are good enough to cover my ass. Anyways, since I’m looking for somebody to make a prototype it’s crystal clear that I’m willing to disclose my stuff to him/her. I have absolutely no fear that somebody might steal my protected idea

If you want to do the prototype, Hodgman, why don’t you just say so? Are you also well-connected? Can you open the right doors? Then let’s make some moola together
This thread is making me facepalm so hard
