Orchestral Composer
Greetings! My name is Steve Barden and I come from a world of TV and film. Music for games is new to me. I've been writing music professionally for over 20 years. I write for daytime TV talk shows, documentaries, animation, etc.
I love video games! In the early 90's I was offered a position of in-house composer at (then) Sierra Online. Circumstances at the time didn't allow me to accept the job and now I'm working on getting back into the industry.
Although I've not composed for games, I do know how to write and orchestrate music at a professional level. I wanted to make my availability known to you all. Please visit my web site, www.stevebarden.com, and listen to my samples. I would love to collaborate with you on your next game project.
Cheers!
Steve Barden

Steve, this forum is for discussing the creative side of sound and music as it relates to game development. It's not for pitching your portfolio or looking for opportunities - that's what the Your Announcements forum is for, and I moved your original thread yesterday for this reason. This is also noted in one of the 'sticky' threads above; it's usually good 'netiquette' to read the sticky threads on a forum before posting there.
The reason I do this is that for some reason this forum attracts a disproportionate amount of people looking for work relative to the amount of people contributing to practical discussions on the development and use of audio within games. Therefore we have to be quite strict about disallowing these threads, or the information useful to all gets deluged among a list of composers wishing to sell their services.
