E-mail sucks.

">A better alternative.

Those people are very generous with their time and money. Email works fine for me. No TV crew, tape, pigeon, flash drive, show display, extra laptops, pa's.. uh, pigeon handlers, required.
Why don't you just point a rich client like Outlook or Thunderbird at gmail's POP/SMTP servers?

I'm actually with the OP on this one - I'm not a huge fan of Gmail's UI. As far as services go though, they are top. Hotmail, afaik, doesn't allow you to use your Hotmail account as an SMTP server or anything like that. GMail does.

I'd recommend GMail, but with some sort of email client like Thunderbird.

For my alternative email account I use Hotmail, which integrates neatly into Windows Live Mail Desktop. My main beef with Google Mail is that if you have an account with it you must use it as your primary email address with your otherwise unrelated Google account (compared with Microsoft's Passport service which works with any email address, not just Hotmail).

Of course, there's always GameDev.net's own email service...

been using Gmail for years, I do begin to find it a bit cluttered. Tends to morph into something else, don't like the cap at 20MB

My project`s facebook page is “DreamLand Page”

20MB for all your mail? Mine currently says I have 7432MB of available space.

attachement limit i think.

and yeah, gmail + 1. i hate the mail-technology. a lets-fit-something-of-the-real-world-to-computers that completely failed. i like how gmail goes beyond 'reality' and moves to more computer-focussed additional features like the collections. more like a forum with a topic per mail, than the split up chaotic solution that normal mails bring with each.

in essense: cluttered? no. it unclutters the cluttered nature of email.
