Outside of work...
how many hours do you spend coding? Between work, fitness, socialising and spending time with my girlfriend I only really get around about 4 hours a week.
You?
I'd say it's pretty similar for me as well, sometimes less. Lately I've been committed to doing a different, web based project which as eaten all my time. I haven't been particularly motivated in finishing it, so I haven't been doing all that much coding (I promised myself I'd finish it before I go on to some other personal projects).
At least when you know you have limited time, you are a little more careful with what you do with it.

I've done about an hour of non-work programming in the last 6 months. I expect this will get better as things slow down a bit at work, but 60 hour weeks doesn't leave much spare time when you have a family.
Probably about five hours a day during the week, twelve hours a day on the weekends. Not that I have much to show for it, but it keeps me out of mischief. [smile]

Moe- it's funny you should mention some web work, I've recently been building a website for a friend and I cant seem to get motivated with it either. The web stuff is a welcomed break sometimes as its pretty quick to get something nice working and can make me a little bit of money.
I dont think you can forget how to code but I dont think its quite as straight forward as "getting back on a bike" either. I feel quite stupid sometimes when I take a long time off coding because I make silly errors like back when I was in school.

It's about 6+ right now...

Outside of work? What are you talking about? o_O'
I've not coded anything at home in the last ~6 months. I've come to value the time that I don't stare at monitors very much. The only creative thing I'm doing at the PC in my spare time is music making. :/

4 hours a week is a very little, but that's unfortunately around what I can make too.
My main problem is my eyes....Seriously, after 12 years programming for living my eyes can't tolerate any more computer screen on evenings after a working day.
Otherwise though I have a family, I would be able to find more than 4 hours a week.
My only more productive times are when I can afford to do some of my personal stuff at work..

Currently almost zero. For a time it was probably 10-20 as I was trying to get a project finished. Now that I'm focusing on Unreal 3 modding (currently only level, not Unreal script) I haven't really done any. Makes me feel like a loser wanting to get into the game industry and not doing any programming...
