Designing Without the Art

Alright, so I've recently started to learn Unreal (just the Editor, for now). I have experience with Torque, Hammer, and a few other engines, but I figure knowledge of Unreal 3 is a great skill to have. ANYWAYS, I want to be able to start making my own maps at some point, either for a specific game/mod, or just to built as a cool environment for practice and portfolio work. My problem, however, is that I am not an artist in any way. I'm trying to learn a little bit of 3ds Max, but I know I'll never be able to make really awesome assets. So, I'm wondering if people know of good sites where I can find a variety of pre-built assets that I can use in Unreal, whether they're already built specifically for it, or if they just require minor changes or needed to be converted to the right format. Preferably, they would be free. I'm not looking to make anything for profit or anything like that, but rather just for my own personal use to build a portfolio and things like that. Does anyone know of a good place I can start?
*cough* I'm an idiot and just found the huge thread about free artwork. *cough*

Well, okay then. No need to keep the thread open.
