Nope, certainly not. :)
I've reported a number of performance issues on VS2010 and, surprisingly enough, they turned out to be caused by the language service rather than the new WPF-based editor. In fact, when running without the language service (i.e. basic syntax coloration only, no intellisense or other niceties), the new editor is at least an order of magnitude faster than VS2008 for large files. Add intellisense back and things start to suck pretty badly.
Out of curiosity, how is startup time for you? On my native installation, I cannot really detect a difference to VS2008, but on a VM it is significantly slower here.
