This is a very serious problem amongst University lecturers, I've found. They go all hoity-toity about how they know more than you, but prove them wrong and it's like being back at nursery school with the reaction you get.

I remember a situation a couple of years ago where a lecturer (who had never taught me) was removed from all teaching duties and placed on research leave, because there were complaints about how little he actually knew about the subject he was teaching yet was totally defiant about it.

Academia is a load of total bullshit. Six months and I'm done.
