Though I kinda wonder what other sites people go to? Few seems as good/active/informative as this one.

I too, have wondered this. I'm guessing other message boards, such as the XNA Creator's Club. I've noticed a decent number of "what's xna, can it make an RPG for me?" sort of threads.

Most of the cool members are gone, inactive or just gave up on the lounge because of the rating fiasco.
*snip*

The articles section is getting outdated.

Ah, so I'm not cool now?

But yeah, some of the articles are getting pretty long in the tooth. (Egad, I'm reminded once again that I need to finish that article for superpig...[disturbed])
People come and people go, they get busy, their priorities change. I know for myself during my years at collage I realized that I no longer want to make games when I get out. I come here out of habit, tending to read the lounge and software engineering sections more then anything.

I dunno the XNA creators club forums don't seem to get post like that either at least from what I've noticed.

You mean this?. It should really point here. The other isn't dynamically updated. It's a stupid fix that we should have gotten around to long ago.

Yes. I mean most articles are 2+ years old. Are you still publishing articles from users? I'm taking some vacation I might write some.

I think the activity goes in spurts. Most people here are either A) full time employees and/or B) full time students.

That means a good 30-50 hours minimum [edit: per week] of their lives are sucked into work or school. Then they have family, friends, and other non-game development related activities. That can often leave little time for gamedev.

QFT.

ZOMGFG YES.

Going to college kicked my ass in the gamedev department.

Well the majority of the recent articles we've published are from users, yea. Our writing guidelines are clearly outlined here and for the past two years we've had at least 2-3 new features a week.
