Marketing
Captains Log Stardate 3/11/2009
I have been working on this project (see previous posts) and I have had a great deal of help from all the gamedev dudes. I would firstly like to thank all those who posted for their valuable information. Thanks.
Now I would like if at all possible, what cost or percentage does the marketing side of a AAA game title cost?
If anyone has any idea, I would greatly appreciate it.
Live long and prosper.
This can vary wildly, especially depending if this is a PC or console title and the mode(s) of distribution.
In general though, for a $50 console title bought at a retail store -
* Manufacturer gets $3
* Marketing would get $6
* Platform holder gets $7
* Developer gets $8
* Publisher gets $10
* Retailer gets $16
Again, this is a single case. Nearly every product has a different breakdown due to all of the contributing factors.
