do you have to be a man that shaves to be a successfull programmer
Depends on what you mean by "successful," and also what you mean by shave. If you have a well-kept beard, then, in my experience, there are relatively few companies that would pass you over. If you look like Stallman (unkempt, long, scraggly Unix-beard), then you're going to have more trouble finding work. That being said, there are a handful of people in my current job that have Unix-beards. There are companies out there that will overlook scraggly beards/piercings/tattoos if you are a good programmer.
i did'nt mean if you dont shave and look scruffy you wont get a job , i ment does shaving make you a better programmer and makes you feel all manly and you can take on the any project because you have the strenght
:)

If you're talking about does having the ability to grow a beard give you confidence then maybe. I know a lot of people that take pride in their well kept beard and gain confidence from how it makes them look.
I get a 5 O'clock beard pretty much and I shave every week so I go from clean shaven professional -> rugged programmer -> hobo you just saw on the street.
Also don't post to post. Try IRC if you want to bring up random conversations. Works better. (oh I've been informed you've been banned from #gamedev. That makes sense.)
because only men can code and dominate the programming scene with there strength
:)
What? Strength? Give that man the super finger!
Programming is an exercise of the mind, not the muscles. Shaving might help a programmer avoid the distraction of an itchy beard, but letting a beard grow out takes care of that too.
