a very minimalist game, with just one button [grin] Retro and casual!

Everything is better with Metal.

It's also on iPhone, though for the (in my opinion) ridiculous price of $2.99. If it were $0.99, I just might buy it, but $3 for a game that is free on a computer seems a bit excessive.

Edit: I just realised you linked to the iPhone one. I just looked at the URL and figured it was the Flash version. :P

I dont get it!
presentation was OK
but gameplay leaved a lot to be desired

If you like that then perhaps you'll like this (similar but a bit better gameplay, presentation not as good though)

freeware btw 20million downloads so obviously it has its fans
Proper version of the game, rather than the iPhone one.

Farthest I've gotten so far has been 5000m or so.

This game distorts my vision. Whenever it stops my laptop screen starts going one way and the keyboard starts going the other. Trippy.

Wow this game is so simple (and not very fun IMO).
Did someone get rich off this game? If so I'm starting to get into iPhone development immediately.
yep. *rub hands*

It's ok. It's just that the obsession with experimental gameplay fascinates me. This game could take, maybe a day to code, a day or two for art assets? So simple a child could do it.

That's the simplest game concept I've seen that actually works and is enjoyable. Any other contenders?

I ran two One Week, One Button contests: 1 2. Hopefully they all still work.
When I saw the thread title, I guessed that would be the game. I really love it and will admit that most of its appeal is in the presentation. It had a lot of little touches that made it feel really polished. For example, the way the character's body shifts during a long jump makes it very fluid. Also, even though many of the Newgrounds comments complained about a lack of story, the story, as told by the music and the backgrounds, is appealing. You get to see a few details that tell a story but, more importantly, hint that there's more to the story (very much like Lord of the Rings), so this very simple game creates a very large world. And the game play is addictive. It's like Tetris: never ending and getting harder the further you go.
