Hi, Can someone please tell me if any Game Studios provide internships to students with respect to the business aspect of Game Development like production, marketing, PR and stuff? I am interested in the same and would like to apply if any are available. Also if not available, what do I need to do to be recruited at such posts in terms of my resume. I have some experience in Game Programming but am now trying to make a shift to the managerial aspect as I am currently pursuing a management course. Thanks and looking forward to your replies.

Yes, they have internships in marketing and PR. Probably not in production, but it's possible that some might.
If you want to get a job in marketing or PR, it would be best to have either a degree or professional experience in marketing or PR.
To get a job in Production, you need to have practical game industry experience.

Thanks for the very quick reply Tom. Can you tell me which studios provide such opportunities and do they have any specific time lines as to when the hiring happens? I am asking that because I saw the opportunities for a few game studios like for eg. Insomniac games which had the deadline till March 2009 for Game Programmers.
You will more likely find internships for design, programming, marketing, pr and production at the bigger publishers than at the developer level. EA has a program for summer internships and I believe Disney supports internships as well. However these positions might be limited to current students located in the US with a valid work visa. Also due to economic climate, many of these positions might be unpaid or require that they be for school credit.

No. I can't. You don't find jobs by asking people on internet forums to tell you where you should apply. You go looking for them. Do research on all the game companies in your local area. Use GameIndustryMap and GameDevMap. If there aren't any game companies within daily commuting distance, you'll have to move first. (Hint: there is at least one in Mumbai.) And read:

My company has had internships for producers so they definitely exist, although not for marketing or PR (we are a small development company).

As has already been posted, many of the major publishers have internships for marketing, production, PR, etc. I'd check with Activision, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft as well.
