Ars Review of Snow Leopard
I found the Ars Review of Snow Leopard to be quite interesting. Specifically pages 9 through 15. It covers LLVM Clang, C blocks extension, Grand Central Dispatch and Open CL.
Very interesting read for the resource hungry OS-X programmer. Start , Page 9
GCD seems like a dream. Working with large numbers of pthreads can be a pain. In this case GCD is a god send (at least imo). The idea and architecture of LLVM and Clang seems promising. All these technologies together appear to make developing high performance code much much simpler and very portable.
Any thoughts.
