I've always been confused by why so many people ignore browser based 3D engines when it comes to delivering their content. I see download links for executables being posted in places and I always wonder if there's a better way to show your work. I've been working with various browser based 3D engines for a while now, I did a lot of work with director and now I'm using Unity 3D. As always, coming up with a new workflow is a problem when exposing yourself to a new authoring environment. To that end, I've written up a tutorial detailing how to get your content directly from sketchup into Unity 3D. You can find it by visiting the following link. Sketchup to Unity 3D tutorial I plan to write a lot more about this in the near future so feedback is always welcome. It's getting easier and easier to create content these days and I think sketchup is starting to shed its image of being a light weight in the 3D field.
