The year 2001 bug! LNK2001! Most encountered error
Its feeling is likes of an "impromptu nightmare of disaster!"
Whenever it occurs its quite a bag of debuging.
LNK2001 error is one of my most encountered errors and in the beginner it caused a havoc in my game programming endeavors. Well if I could, I would tag this error as the Y2k or Y2K+1 Bug. Just look at the number "2001"! That number and I encountered it in the year 2001 for first time.Thats the time it was quite a brain squirting task for me. I am sure it existed long before. But to overcome it is not easy but possible always.

Nightmare of disaster? It's the simplest, easiest to fix error a linker can give you.
So this one time, I was hiking in the mountains in Italy. We used to go there a lot when I was young, and I stumbled into this cave. Curious as I was, like any other healthy child, I entered the cave, armed with nothing but my fancy walking stick with insignias of mountains and canyons we conquered and my courage. The cave was slightly damp, and I heard noises from the distance.
As I progressed into the cave, the sounds became more progressively harder and they started to confuse me. The roaring of what seems to be a bear, and the the sounds of a mountain goat. In the distance, I discovered a small light source, and as I approached, it became larger and larger, and I could hear the sound from originating in that section of the cave.
As I stepped into the 'chamber', I saw several light sources hanging on the wall, a TV camera with accompanying crew who were focusing on filming the source of the noises: A bear and a mountain goat making out.
At that point, someone noticed me and asked what I was doing. And all I could blurt out was: "Link Error LNK2001: Unresolved External Symbol _main".

I am occasionally tempted to open up my C++ compiler in a text editor and change all the error strings with "2001" in them to "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."

Hopefully I forget about this before I get near the computer of anyone I know that programs.
