Although I seem to have missed the origins of this thread: It does remind me of an idea I had (many, many) years ago.

Lemming Wars:

They are cute, they are cuddly, they walk blindly off of cliffs and they are packing heat...

Basically it would be a simplified game of Lemmings, but they use weapons in an RTS like (although side view) attempt to destroy the other side, or make them fall of cliffs, walk into pools of water (lava, acid, etc) traps (which you can send your lemmings to set up).

they ahve the special abilities found in Lemmings games, Blockers, Bridge builders, stair builders, climbers, bombers, etc. Along with the best of Worms and Scorched Earth.

Of course, then you get someone playing the gummi-dinosaur flattening everyone, and that's just not cricket.

I think going with the sweets (candy for Americans) theme would be kinda cool, since you can theme weapons and terrain around this easily as well.
