Hi, short story: A friend had a game on his Amiga a decade ago. He didn`t let me play cause I might break his record. So I decided to code it myself. Now I found my source again and compiled it ( written in Java ) and put it on my homepage The Game. Can you please test it, and say if you have seen it somewhere else? Strangely.. I cannot see this game when searching with google. I am realy interested why this game is mentioned nowhere. How to play: Goal is to make the maximum number of Lines. You do that by connecting 4 points which then form a 5 points Line. (click start point-> click endpoint) If you happen to draw a line onto 5 existing points, you get a bonus point that you can place with middle mouse button.
Excuse my english, I am only German
Never seen a game like this. It's .. weird.

Also, can you actually make a game over without filling the whole field?
It'd help, if the cursor would indicate a possible move with mouse over.

I don't get it. I ended up randomly clicking points until something happened.

Could you explain it in a bit more detail?

EDIT: It seems that the general rule is that a line is made of four bold dots and one light dot, but that doesn't always seem to work, so there must be some other constraints on legal moves.

Yeah, you take 5 points in a row. At least 4 of them have to be bold (if 5 are bold you get the middle-click-make-a-bold-point bonus). Also, no lines can exist already between any of your 5 points.
I got this while trying to figure it out ;)

@Endurion: The source is free, since the game is not originally by myself. You just have to go one folder up on my homepage. I didn`t fill the whole place. The highes score was around 94 Lines. I don't want to give more help. If you are lost, you can look at the side and there is a display of one of the available starting points.

@Hodgman: Thanks for explaining more. My english is not the best comming from germany. And since I made the rules in javacode I have a problem to describe in words whats crystal clear to me :)

I think I found a bug - sometimes I when click a point but then click again on the same point, it draws a short line like this:
o o-O-o o
I clicked on "O" twice, and that short line appeared.

This is a fun little puzzle by the way :)

Funny game but it's really time consuming.
