Track places you've traveled?

I am looking for a service that will allow me to keep track of places I've been, write descriptions, and upload pictures/albums/videos. Any recommendations? I tried the "Where I've Been" app for Facebook, but I found the interface to be horrible, and it's very limiting. I was trying to do some things with Google Earth as well, but I can't seem to create an entire 'album' for a particular location. Does something like this exist? I have tons of brochures and pamphlets from museums and other places I've been to, and I'd like to digitize it all for easier access. Thanks!
The Google Maps API is really easy to use. You might want to look at that.

I use Google Earth and save all the places I've been to with a pushpin. I write a little description of what happened there, etc. I'm sure there are better alternatives.
I still get an annual happy birthday email from Virtual Tourist, but I only used it once, seven years ago. I've just taken a look to see what had become of it (can't believe I remembered the password) and although it still functions, it all feels and looks somewhat dated. It does allow you to upload photos with descriptions and linking them to map locations, but their might be better alternatives by now.
