GIMP gridlines?

Are there ways to have gridlines for every 32 or 64 pixels so I can create map tiles, instead of having to draw them out myself?

I can't reboot to linux right now to check, but iirc you can just drag out guides from the sides and place them where you want them. Another option is this. And then there's the default grid. I'm not sure if you can change it's frequency, but you probably can. Here's some info. All links courtesy of Google... your first stop for questions like these ;)

Filters >Render >Pattern >Grid

You can also do Image > Configure Grid
