Music & Sound FX - Multiple Requests
I'd have to say by far that finding the right sounds and music is the HARDEST thing about game development! At least for me ^^
Anyway, I'll try to tell you what I need the best way I can. Thanks in advance! It doesn't have to be homemade lol.
-MUSIC-
1. Main Menu: I'm looking for a scary and suspenseful song. Here's a picture of the main menu to help you out:

2. Background: I'm looking for an upbeat song. Kind of like the Mario games. Here's a picture of the background to help you out:

3. Game Over: I'm looking for a short, horror song. I plan having a funeral bell and evil laugh sound fx along with the song. The song that would fit a graveyard setting would probably work. Here's a picture of the game over to help you out:

4. Game Win: I'm looking for a victorious sort of song that would make the player prideful. Trumpets might work in the song. Here's a picture of the game win:

-SOUND FX-
1. Click: Harr, harr, just a good and simple click sound for the main menu that would fit the main menu picture I showed you.
2. Die Scream: What dying scream would fit a stickman?
3. Poof: When a stickman dies, he does this animation of waving his limbs everywhere, then disappears in a cloud of smoke. I need a poof sound lol.
4. Funeral Bell: This sound is to accompany the horror music and evil laugh on the game over screen I showed you earlier. Just think of either a bell ringing on a funeral day, or during a suspenseful movie and the clock ticks twelve o'clock midnight. (hey did you know that o'clock means 'of the clock?' LOL!)
Well that's all my requests. PLEASE help me! I searched for like 2 hours yesterday on sound fx alone and hadn't even scratched the surface of that darn audio vault door!
Are you looking to contract out someone to make these sounds for you? If so, you should outline what terms you're willing to agree to (i.e. payment, rights, deadlines, credits, etc) so folks know what kind of situation they're stepping into.
If you're not interested in contracting out someone, then I'd recommend www.sounddogs.com. They have an a la carte method for music and sounds, but take note that it is NOT free.
Thanks,
Nathan

Er, er I wanted FREE music and sound fx. Like I said it doesn't have to be YOU that made it. It could be like a sound fx from www.partnersinrhyme.com or a music file from www.vgmusic.com or something. ... or one of your own free creations ^^

First off, what gives ME the right to give you something for FREE that I didn't make? Answer: Not much.
You need to be careful of copyright infringement or violating the terms of use. For example, I can use any of my royalty SFX in projects because I purchased a license for them. What I cannot do is distribute them freely to others who haven't purchased a license.
Also using music from VGmusic.com would probably mean using music from other video games (at least I don't think they have an original music section there) and that would also be copyright infringement.
Are you going to be selling this video game in any way? If so, it might be best to offer a percentage of the profits (if there are any) or a flat fee upfront to anyone that does work for you. Nobody likes to contribute to a project for free while the main guy makes a buck. :)
Thanks,
Nate

For goodness sake this is my first game I've making on Game Maker 7 and it's not going to be commercial in any way and I'm only 14 years old! Aah finally let that out of my head. Just anything that I don't have to pay for, and remember I won't be using it for commercial use. More like personal use. And in a way, since I'm new to game making... educational use! :D
Chill out man. I'm just letting you know the issues related to using copyrighted material. Nothing preventing you from going ahead and doing so, but you need to realize some composers-sound designers might be hesitant to help you because of this. Now, you can probably find a composer-sound designer willing to let you use his own material for free (or for practically peanuts).
