Clicking in filename list in Explorer in Vista
In detailed view (the only best view :p) in Explorer in Vista, if you click anywhere in the filename list, it selects the file of that row. In Windows XP it only does this if you click on the name of the file, everything to the right of the name is "free zone".
I like it like in XP because you can drag a rectangle around files, and you have a zone to click to select nothing.
In Vista if you make the movement to drag a rectangle around files, instead it grabs the file of that row and thinks you want to drag the file.
Does this "feature" in Vista have a name, and can it be turned off?
If you don't start dragging from the currently selected file than I can highlight folders just fine.
Explorer will only try and drag the file if it's already selected.
So if you click and drag in the "free zone" of a file that is not selected, it'll drag a rectangle like you expect.
If you click and drag in the free zone of a file that is selected, it'll drag the file.
If you click and drag on the filename itself, it'll always drag the file.
