And you ended with:

Yes, you missed something. But please don't disregard the post.

Instead please learn something about IP law and why it is best to develop your own ideas rather than copy them from other people.

You completely missunderstood my point, I never said you would use the same graphics, IP and in general resources, sounds or whatever of the original game. When I say cloning I say make a game like it but with your own media, in the same vein. There are many bejeweled clones out there, many match 3 games, many breakout clones out there, all of them are 100% legal and commercial coming from different companies, that's what I meant.

I don't know why people instead of trying to show to the world their "great command of the law" or any other subject over the internet (trying to make other people look illinformed), they first don't try to understand what was said instead of jumping into conclusions right away. Actually I don't know why I even bother contributing to threads like these, it's not the first time it happens.

You are posting in 'The Business and Law of Game Development' subforum. [smile]

That's not the topic that was discussed.

I don't know either.

Unfortunately you are right, it has happened before. I've been looking over your post history and can see the trend.

Please don't stop contributing, that would be a loss to the community.

Instead, please take a moment before replying to look at the forum the post is in. Each forum has different rules.

For example, the "For Beginners" forum is relatively strict about accuracy of information and criticism of posters. It looks like they were clear to you about why the post was inappropriate.

In the "Game Programming" forum, factually incorrect statements such as your claim that "Vtune only works with Intel microprocessors and CodeAnalyzer only works with AMD microprocessors." will naturally incite the community to sharply reprove you. Accuracy is important in that forum, and blatantly false misinformation is vigorously attacked.

In the "Help Wanted" forum, you are generally expected to stay in line with either help for the project, or details and advice for project management. One of your replies with a blase and cliche dismissal of their project is certainly not appropriate for that forum, although it may have been appropriate if reworded in a constructive form, or perhaps in "The Lounge" or another forum.

Most of your posts are appropriate, although sometimes abrupt and containing attacks rather than corrections.

In particular I see the replies in the art-related forums are very much in line with their rules, and appear quite helpful.

I encourage you to keep participating, just be a little more observant about the forum and its rules before posting.
