what is 'off' about C#?

I'm closing this on the grounds that it is blatant flamebait and we've already had far too many "this language vs. that language" wars.
Every language has its positive and negative aspects. In many cases, these are subjective; so what works well for you may be uncomfortable for another, or vice versa. There is nothing de facto "wrong" with any language (except for maybe BrainFuck) - there are some subjective strong and weak points, and some objective ones.
It sounds to me like you're fishing for subjective experiences, which is just going to go no place good.
If you can convince me (via PM) that this topic is worth GDNet's time, I will reconsider opening the thread. Otherwise... yeah.

If you can convince me that you convinced ApochPiQ that this topic worth GDNet's time, and do so without ever quoting him nor referencing him in any way (including the reopening of this thread by him), then I'll reconsider opening this thread!
In time the project grows, the ignorance of its devs it shows, with many a convoluted function, it plunges into deep compunction, the price of failure is high, Washu's mirth is nigh.
