Doesn't violently overthrowing the goverment count as a violation of "any applicable law, regulation, or rule"?

If I recall correctly that's a constitutional right/responsibility in the US.

AFAIK that's exactly the reason why US citizens are allowed to possess firearms.

Does this mean that my Tetris clone can still adocate the silent overthrow of the US government?

Good one!

[OpenTK: C# OpenGL 4.4, OpenGL ES 3.0 and OpenAL 1.1. Now with Linux/KMS support!]

"advocating violent overthrow of the government" is precisely the thing that must be protected by freedom of speech.

There is freedom of speech and there is private property and ownership, while I have a right to say whatever I want as long as is not defamatory, libelous or slanderous, you have the right of kicking me off your property if I say anything that you won't tolerate while I am a guest there, Sourceforge being privately owned (I am assuming here), can set its own rules for providing its services.

So, if you're into violent government overthrows, then you'll just have to find a different medium (hosting service) to express it.

In Short: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service. [smile]

of course sourceforge.net is free to put whatever requirements they want. The point is that government should *not* be able to force them to.

Is there evidence that they're being forced? I am honestly too lazy to look it up [smile], it sounds more like ass coverage to me, since a failed violent government overthrow results in treason charges.

The government isn't forcing anyone to do anything. They just don't want anyone who has committed sedition working for them. I think it's pretty clear that SourceForge is trying to make sure that the projects on their site remain open for as much potential use as possible, including government projects, and in order for those projects to be acceptable by the government, then the people involved can't be guilty of sedition.

I'd be glad to host my enemies project's on my own website.
