5-10 second loops?

Hi, I made a few puzzle games for iPhone. I'm having a really hard time finding background music loops. Ideally I'd like 5-10 second loops. Here's what I came up with: 1) Use some of the creative-commons loops from sites like looperman.com. Supposedly I just give credit to the author in my game's about page and I'm all set. I'm worried though that the authors may change the license terms if my game became popular etc without me knowing etc, who knows what kind of legal trouble I could get into. Also some of the authors who marked their works as creative commons don't respond to email - it's just kind of a mess. I'd much prefer to contact them first to ask for permission. 2) Buy some royalty free loops. These are either all way too long (30s to 3 minutes) and way too expensive. I'd like about 10 loops, but can't afford to pay $30 a loop. 3) Make my own in FL etc. It would probably take me about a month to start producing anything halfway decent. I have musical background/training, but not in creating compelling loops. What is everyone here doing? I'd be willing to pay something more like $4 for a 5 second decent loop, but can't find any sites that offer such a thing. I am new to the audio side of games so maybe I'm way undershooting with this stuff costs (which kinda stinks since I've released a lot of free software myself!) Thanks for any ideas
Maybe it would be easier just to find a composer.

If you obtain something under a certain license then that license is valid for you and cannot be changed without your permission. (The author can start to distribute his work under a different license, but that wouldn't affect you)

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
I have some experience in music and sfx, I'm looking for people that want this type of thing. A little bit of my stuff can be heard here...

let me know if you're interested, i'm pretty flexible skill wise.
You won't get in any trouble using Creative Commons music.
Once given the license it can't be changed. But make sure you check the license to see what you can and cannot do with the music.
You might want to check http://www.tribeofnoise.com This site handles with only one kind of license. The CC 3.0 by-sa license. This license allows you to use, remix, etc. the music and to use it commercially. You only need to attribute the composer and share the new work under the same or a similar license. Of course you can get directly in contact with the composer through Tribe Of Noise to discuss your use and you can negotiate any other deals.
