Okay, my loaf of bread was a bit expensive, it was $3.19. I used 1/8th of the bag, so that's $0.40. My peanut butter was $2.59 for a 28oz jar and I used about 2tbsp (1 server of a 25 serving jar), so that's about $0.10. My jam was $1.59 for an 18oz jar, and I used about 1tbsp (1 serving of a 17 serving jar), so that's about $0.09. For the full sandwich that is about $0.59.

When the bread has been toasted just right and the peanut butter becomes warm and creamy...
Holy crap, you can read!
Sounds like a variant of the 'diet problem' in linear programming. The demo here found a diet of peanut butter, raw carrots, popcorn, baked potatoes, and skim milk for $0.96 a day. Mmmmm.

Coffee with milk, 4 cookies.
[size="2"]I like the Walrus best.
I never liked jam with peanut butter. Honey and peanut butter works well, but I prefer cheese and vegemite jaffles.

My usual cheap lunch lately has been a simple bowl of rice with soy sauce. Simple but I like it.
(After having caught the oversight in the other post ...)

For those intolerant of peanuts, I understand that they now have something called SunButter, made of sunflower seeds, which supposedly looks and tastes PB-ish.
