Not to sound rude, but why are you coming to a forum and asking for others to supply instrument sounds? It's one thing to ask for advice or feedback on one's work- but to ask for assets.... seems a bit out of place to me. For example, we don't even know what you're planning on using these sounds for and where they'll end up.
I'm sure a google search could yield some instrument sounds. Try looking up "Free VST".
Thanks,
Nate

i wasnt trying to be rude, i was just asking if anyone had anyone had some sounds that i could use. I figured most people already had saved sound files and tht it probably wouldnt be tht big of a deal just to send sound files. I would do it.
It could be a big deal though. It just depends on what sounds people are using. For example I have alot of commercial samples and I would be violating the terms of use if I were to just give you free samples from that collection. Heck, I'd be violating the terms if I sold them to you as well (while still using them myself). Likewise, you'd also be violating the terms of use as well if you accept and use commercial samples that you haven't paid for. A few libraries allow people to transfer licenses to a new person, but it is a one way street. You're supposed to transfer them to a new person and give up your ability to use them. What you're wanting to do is "borrow" samples.
I would be willing to wager that about 90% of the composers on here are using commercial samples. Probably even higher actually. Very few people have a full collection of samples that were recorded and produced 100% by themselves.
This is why you don't see these kinds of request very often.

ya, i know about tht stuff, but all i am asking for are sounds of a keyboard like when you hit the button and it plays one pitch of an instrument. I am sure tht i am not violating any terms by asking for a crash cymbal in one pitch played one time. If anyone asked me for a guitar note or piano note it wouldnt offend me. In fact, i have already been asked. I am not asking for anything complex or sophisticated.
Yeah it would be violating the license in most cases.
It's quite tight. I know for Eastwest/Quantum Leap if you are using say, a loop from one of their libraries, in no part of your song can you have that loop playing by itself. It must be accompanied by 4 other layers, as if not, it meets the definition of re-distributing a sound from that library, which you are not permitted to do. That's in your song using the sound library you purchased! The thing is, you don't buy the library from them, you purchase a license to use the sounds. That's the difference, it's in most cases illegal to re-distribute the sounds in its pure form. A drum hit anything.
TBH I'm not sure what the license agreement is like on a hardware synth in comparison.
But hey see if you can get a copy of Computer Music magazine. There is heaps in the computer music studio you could use - good stuff too. You might be able to find some of it on the net.

The problem is that you're assuming it is okay. Have you even looked into what the agreement is for the sounds found on a keyboard or piece of hardware? Do you even know what is legit or not? My point is stop assuming what you're asking for is okay and do some research first. If it turns out that keyboard brand X allows free distribution of their samples, then go for it. Ask for samples from only that particular keyboard. If no keyboard does, then drop it. Either way- do the research and find out. Stop assuming.

It is against the EW terms of license to resample any of their products. That means recording each note individually for any purpose, most especailly for dynamic playback in a software product.
Resampling a piano or guitar is most obviously a violation of licensing terms.

can someone give me a link to where it says it is illegal to record a note as a file on a computer, then use it to make your own music? I have searched and i have yet to find it.
