Hi anyone know of any good software for painting vertexes (possibly polygons) of low polygon 3d models? Preferably something that's not expensive. Also pref, that it can export to the obj format. Basically, I've got low poly space ships and I just want to paint each polygon a color. I've used some uv unwrappers and it's just a pain. I made all my stuff in wings 3d... So if anyone knows of a way to get my vertex colors exported in wings3d I'd love to know.
3D Coat is really slick and it is $140. Blender can do it too, I believe, if you're looking for free.

Wow, I'd never looked before but blender has a really nice vertex paint mode. I tried exporting it to an obj... However it didn't seem to save the oclors that I'd painted the vertexes.
