i will probably go for auto aim (with a small damage reduction for this control scheme). Players are co-op anyway so balance between them are not so very important.

Game is based on exploration and collection items /wealth and manufacturing stuff so it will be ok i think. There's also a lot of shooting but i think it will be fun even for the player that has to use auto aim

Thanks for the input.

Shadowgrounds is a 3rd Person Shooter game that has hotseat cooperative play. One player uses the mouse and the keyboard, another uses a game controller.

Have you ever tried to play Shadowgrounds using a gamepad? It's absolutely terrible, I wouldn't recommend it to someone wanting to implement good controls.

Yea I have, actually. It wasn't too easy to control, but I figured it was because I don't really use gamepads much. It worked well enough that after 40 or 50 minutes, I could get used to it enough to get immersed in the game without the controls distracting me. I admit I vastly prefer keyboards, but other people may be more used to controllers, and it'd be a good idea to provide (optional) support for them.

Asides from Shadowgrounds, I haven't used the gamepad for any other game. So, I imagine what took me 40 or 50 minutes to get used to, others could probably be comfortable with in much less time.
