Simple easy to learn 3d software?
I'm a beginner and I'm looking for an easy to get used to interface...
For example for those familiar with music , I use fruity loops as opposed to cubase or reason or others because its just so easy to learn to use
Also I tried using my friend's poser to to make a model , hated it , I cannot specify the exact features , there are just bars on the left that I can move to change a certain feature, say length of nose.
and I have no control over whats actually happening, if I wanted to do something not specified there I couldnt. That pissed me off, seriously
So I'm not sure how it all goes , but I want some advice overall, if I just want to create complicated game characters but start with simple tools and maybe import a face from here , clothes from there(is that how they do it?)
what program would I use?
btw, also does every one have a tablet for those things?
No, not everyone has a tablet, but they sure are popular [wink] Especially with 3d sculpting, they make a world of difference.
You get one or the other. If you want drag and drop clothes and body parts you're not going to get any easier to use than Poser. You can checkout the Makehuman project, which might give you some more of the control you want for the actual character itself. For genuine modeling and character creation though, you're going to have to learn to actually model. Different applications appeal to different people, but no matter what it isn't simple.
For straight up modeling, the best application I have found (again, my opinion) is Silo3D. As far as 3d modelers go, I have found it to be the most intuitive. It is, however, only a modeler. If you want to get into animation, advanced rendering, etc then you're going to have to learn a more complete package like Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, XSI, etc. You could also give Milkshape3D or Fragmotion a try, both of which are pretty cheap.
