Pathfinding Help
I'm in search of a pathfinding algo/lib to help with my game. My game is a sports football game. So, it will have numerous dynamic moving models. I started looking at A*, but I'm not sure it would best fit this game.
Any ideas? Should I adapt A* to try and fit it with my game or are there any other alternatives?
Thanks
Jeff.
Do you really need pathfinding for a football game? You should probably look into steering behaviors first.
Pathnoding is used for an area of objects that could be obsticals. Hence, in an MMO you may have a house, that you cannot see through. There is no obsticals in a football field, You may need collision detection, but def not Pathnoding.
Look up steering behaviors with potential fields. Basically, they incorporate attraction and repulsion vectors from other agents in the game.
