RE: http://nehe.gamedev.net/data/lessons/lesson.asp?lesson=Solaris Hey all, I'm trying to get the tutorials to run under the new OpenSolaris. I can't seem to find a package for GLUT nor the packages required to build the IMakefiles to build GLUT from source. Does anyone know how to get GLUT or a substitute working on OpenSolaris?
You could try FreeGlut(pops).

Thanks - Thought I tried that one but I'll give it another shot.

- What exactly do we need glut for?
- Would we need glut for the 'New Lessons' basecode?

GLUT is the OpenGL Utility Toolkit, a window system independent toolkit for writing OpenGL programs.

Sounds the same as the SDL, which I just discovered.
Thus I think my final answer is: Use the SDL.
