Have the players plunked down in the middle of the woods dressed as deer on the first day of hunting season.

Send them on a field trip to the North Pole where they must keep the ice caps from melting.

The evil owner of a senior's home is teaching the residents how to do karate, ostensibly as healthy exercise, but he/they actually intend to form them into an army to take over the world.

Maybe this could be one of the enemies the "ordinary dude" has to fight, or something like that.
